«Beyound the ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing there is a field, I meet you there»
-Rumi
Sometimes I imagine myself in that field, I am one with the inmense green extension, I lay down, I rest. It is in that field I want to be this summer, I want to invite you there, I want to dance.
This morning I talked to my parents about posture, my mum is getting helped from the Bowspring-keys I have been given her throughout the last year: She says to be daily thinking about expanding and lifting her ribcage, elongating her central channel, through a grounding and at the same time uplifting action. My dad, on the other hand, says he chooses not to think about the physical or the muscle-actions, he says that when he thinks about himself as worthy and powerful, an uplifting action is happening in his ribcage and whole body… And do you know what?, the shape they both create, is almost the same!
I believe it is not about creating an outer form, but to awaken an inner action of expansion from the inside-out. It’s about directionality: where am I heading, about Intention: what do I want, and about accountability: Am I taking responsibility of my life, my health? In Yoga we start with the form, because the form INforms. Looking at the posture you can easily imagine how one feels, how one’s day has been… So if we work with yoga and Bowspring, creating a certain shape through an inner action, creating an open S-form in our bodies, that enhances Everything, back and front, inside-out, an integration is happening.. Difficult feelings can be understood and released, and positive feelings much easier take their place and expression in our mind-heart-body. An open posture reflects happiness, stability, tranquility, while a closed poture (C-shape) reflects sadness, fear or anger (or traces, memories of those same feelings). It is a two way communication, the inside effects the outside, and the outside effects the inside.
There are no rights or wrongs, there is only one field of energy that takes shape in our bodies. Lets discover it, dancing, moving, being. HAPPY SUMMER!
